If you’re spending Thanksgiving at the campground this year, don’t think you have to give up your favorite traditional dishes. With a little preparation and creative thinking, you can have an outstanding holiday dinner. We’ve found some excellent rv cooking recipes from around the internet to help plan your mobile menu. But first, here are a few general tips.

  • Consider cooking the big items, like the turkey, outside in a portable fryer or dutch oven.

  • “Broil” dishes that require a crispy top with a hand torch.

  • Utilize a slow cooker.

  • Precut the turkey before cooking to make it manageable for small spaces.

  • Prepare as much ahead of time as you can. Many dishes will only require a bit of reheating.

  • A dutch oven is your friend. Main dishes and desserts come out fantastic over the hot coals.

  • Don’t underestimate the power of aluminum foil. All kinds of veggies can be wrapped and tossed on the grill.
